Blue Line Transport Company Can Offer Cost Effective Paving Alternatives

Volatile organic compounds, also known as VOCs, have been used as a binder emulsion in asphalt paving for decades. In recent years, the Environmental Protection Agency has passed regulations limiting the use and emissions associated with these VOC asphalt products. To meet the demand for more ecological paving measures, Blue Line Transportation has partnered with EnviroadĀ® to offer paving contractors their EBS-RA asphalt emulsion.

This is an environmentally friendly polymer modified asphalt emulsion that can be used in multiple cold mix paving applications. The constituent components of EBS-RA do not call for the use of hazardous solvents. This significantly reduces the environmental impact, which includes protecting aquatic life and local water conditions.

EBS-RA has low environmental impact and also provides superior cohesion with many different mixed blends. It is cost effective by allowing certain aggregates that would normally be excluded or rejected as waste to be incorporated into the mix.

EBS-RA can be integrated with base aggregate mixes, including 100 percent recycled asphalt pavement. In some cases, it can even use rock that has previously been rejected by the rock crusher. This is done using advanced technology-based additives which creates a homogenized blend for high-performance cold mix asphalt.

If you have been looking for a more ecological alternative to VOCs, you should call Blue Line Transportationā€™s main office in Portland, Oregon, at 503-279-2600 to ask about ESB-RA.
